The Journey
Experience becomes education.
2014–2017
An HBCU foundation
Civil Engineering Technology studies at South Carolina State University became a foundation for student leadership. Through SGA and the Environmental Action Club, Dr. Ja’El helped initiate the campus recycling program and brought environmental responsibility into everyday campus life.
2017–2019
From action to research
Work with SCSU’s 1890 Research & Extension program connected campus recycling with research into post-consumer plastics. Community gardens, food education and environmental-justice engagement extended that learning beyond the classroom.
2019–2024
A NU direction
Study at Aboriginal University brought Indigenous health education, CIND training, Indigenous Psychology and Cosmology into the journey. NuHealth NuWealth grew around the connection between awareness, daily practice and community well-being.
Today
Ministry through service
Dr. Ja’El serves as President & Chief Minister of NU Lifestyle Outreach Ministries. The work brings education, experiential programs and public service together through the NU Lifestyle.
Education + Practice
Learning across disciplines.
Engineering studies, environmental research and Indigenous health education inform a practice built around observation, reflection and purposeful action.

Gathering Higher Education To Teach Others.
GHETTO expresses the purpose of taking what we learn and making it useful to others. Campus recycling, environmental action, gardening and food education all share that intention.
NU continues that work through experiential learning, health-ministry education and accountable community practice. Dr. Ja’El’s public-service journey connects organizing, Indigenous institutional work through ANDNI, and ministry leadership.
